yes, the 16 year old sailor did not make her goal, thankfully she was rescued.
I seriously doubt this story would be so persistent had she succeeded.|||She would have made all the rounds and then people would have promptly forgot about her. 15 minutes.|||Are you kidding me?!? The parents aren't even responsible for the rescue bill? That is so ridiculous. Regrettably, she would have received a ton of news coverage if she had succeeded. It's amazing she got as far as she did when she doesn't even have an athletic bone in her body.|||Wow! just think of the guts %26amp; grit it takes to do this feat, and all from a 16 year old/young.
The lack of success is within your perception because to try, is to succeed and "she" will benefit in many ways from that.
She has taught us a lesson, when we are prepared to vegetate in our cosy existence and /or career or otherwise, the sadness and failure is with us.
16 and prepared to confront the norm.......she has my respect and shame on any of you couch pots to comment otherwise.|||Hopefully NONE now that is has been discovered that her parents were negotiating a reality show deal based on sailing. How pathetic to put your child's life at risk! At least Balloon Boy's parents let him hide out in the attic!|||Agreed. I also think it's ridiculous that her parents aren't responsible for the rescue bill.|||Huge coverage and lots of money.
