Let Me In movie why does Abby bleed when not invited?

I don't quite understand why she starts bleeding or dying when she walks into Owen's house because he didn't say to come in. Can someone explain why she starts dying if she is not told to come in?|||It's a standard vampire thing, like an aversion to garlic. The idea is that the vampire has to "glamour" you or otherwise convince you to let them in.
